TEAM INFORMATION

    1. If a parent or guardian reports a missing child, remain with them and record the following information:

      • Name and contact details of person reporting the child missing and their relationship to the child.

      • Name of child.

      • Age

      • Physical description – sex; ethnicity; height; appearance; build; hair; clothing etc.

      • Time and location last seen.

      • Any other significant information

    2. Communicate the above information to Info Hut via Radio Channel 1. The name MUST NOT be passed by radio and must be communicated discreetly.

    3. A member of team should remain with the person reporting so that they are not distressed and are available to identify possibly sightings of the child.

    4. When the child is reunited with their guardian, operational staff to inform Info Hut.

    5. Enquiries must be made by Event Management Team to establish where the child has been and whether there is any further cause for concern.

    6. When the identity of the found child has been confirmed, event staff, including Info Hut to be notified, and normal duties resumed.

Outside of Info Hut opening hours, lost children should be reported to Security, who will implement the lost children policy. A contact phone number for Event Security will be visible at the Info Hut.

  • Upon finding, or being shown to a found child, the following procedure applies:

    • Remain with the child at the location they are found for 5 minutes, and notify Info Hut via Radio Channel 1. Do not pass any details of the child over the radio.

    • Info Hut will arrange for a member of the Event Management Team to pair with you to minimise 1:1 contact with the child. Physical contact with the child should be avoided.

    • After 5 minutes, take the child to the Site Office (opposite Info Hut), where a minimum of 2 briefed and suitable staff should remain with the child.

    • Adults claiming the child should be asked for ID unless it is clear that the child recognises the adult.

    • Prior to discharging the child, ensure the guardian is fit, for example, they are not intoxicated.

    • If the child shows distress at being collected, then this should be communicated to Event Control via Radio Channel 2.
