FOCUS YOUTH IS AN EMERGING MOVEMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE (SCHOOL YEARS 7 - 13) FROM AROUND THE UK. WE GATHER TO WORSHIP GOD, ENCOUNTER HIM AND HAVE FUN.

what happens on team?

As a thank you for your hard work

(around 7 hours per day), we’ll provide:

  • Free event ticket

  • Option to buy into a subsidised catering plan

  • Access to the teams lounge (where hot drinks and snacks are available throughout the day)

  • Access to recordings of selected Focus talks online after the event

  • 10% discount applied in all Focus cafés

how to book as a volunteer

If you're interested in being part of the Focus Youth Team, please apply with information about your relevant experience.

We will review your application and references and then will be in touch via email regarding your application status.

Please note…

In order to serve with us, you will need a valid DBS check – we will be able to help you with this once you have submitted your team application.

When you make your booking, please select ‘Focus Team’ as the ticket type.

When asked which team you would like to volunteer for, please select your chosen team and complete the rest of the application.

We will run two safeguarding training sessions over zoom prior to Focus, it is mandatory that you attend one of these sessions in order to serve on team. You will receive details for booking on to the training once your application has been approved. Below are the training dates…

  • Tuesday 2nd July at 7PM.

  • Wednesday 3rd July at 6PM.

Our Teams

Youth centre team

This team will attend morning and evening Youth sessions in the Youth Centre venue, building relationships with young people from years 7-11.

The Youth Centre Team will facilitate conversations as well as discipling and providing pastoral support for young people throughout the programme.

Bridge the gap team

This team volunteer through Bridge The Gap and organise and run the sports activities for young people during the afternoons. They also provide support to the Base Team during the morning sessions.

Camping Team

The Camping Team enable young people to come to Focus, particularly if they do not have a parent or carer coming. As the responsible carer over the weekend, they are there to support young people’s wellbeing and look out for them throughout Focus.

hub Team

We are passionate about ensuring Focus is a great experience for everyone and the Hub Team have the privilege of providing essential support to young people with additional needs. This team will attend morning and evening Youth sessions, moving between other Youth venues and the Hub venue.

Operations Team

The Operations Team are essential to the running of Focus Youth. They assist with a variety of jobs over the four days and help to ensure that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.

base team

The Base Team are vital during the sessions as they are on hand for any young people feeling on the fringes. This team are there to engage with these young people and provide pastoral support for them. The Base Team are also on a rota to help with afternoon activities.

Common Room Team

The Common Room launched last year, our bespoke venue for Sixth Formers in the mornings (for the evening sessions we will gather in the Youth Centre). This team will build relationships with and provide pastoral support and discipleship to those in years 12 & 13 throughout the programme.

Before you apply please note:

  • You must be aged 18 or over

  • You must read the role description of your chosen volunteer role

  • You must collect the following referee information:

    • Reference 1 - must be on your church’s leadership team. This includes vicars, service pastors or a PCC member. Connect group leaders or acquaintances from church will not be considered valid referees.

    • Reference 2 - should be an employer or someone who has seen you in a working or hosting environment. Only one reference can be from your church.

    • Please note that at least one of your referees must have known you for more than 3 years and we cannot accept references from relatives/partners/close friends
